History of the Thermal Baths
The Intendente Thermal Baths have almost two centuries of history. Its origin dates back to 1826, when the first spa was built.
However, in 1834 a great flood destroyed the building, forcing its reconstruction. Since then, this place has become a destination for rest and health. for those seeking well-being in its waters.

A thousand-year-old legacy: the origin of thermal water
The hot springs at our resort are a true natural treasure with thousands of years of history. Its healing properties were already known in Roman times, and its use continued with the arrival of the Arabs.
The original hot spring emerged on the left bank of the Mula River, on the Cerro de la Almagra, where remains of an important Roman settlement have been found.
The displacement of the hot spring
The Almagra Hill was occupied during the late Roman and Visigothic periods, but after the Muslim conquest it was gradually abandoned.
In the 17th century, an earthquake changed the course of the thermal water, moving it to its current location, next to the almost dry bed of the Mula River and surrounded by a unique landscape.
